ABOUT PAT: Thank you for your interest. The purpose of this message is to provide you with some basic information about myself and the community I am building. I hope this information assists you in evaluating on what level you want to continue the exchange between us.

ABOUT MYSELF: I grew up in a large family (I am the oldest of eight) and have always considered community and extended family to be a "normal" way to live. I have been working for over twenty years in various recycling ventures, including owning and operating a recycling center in our county, working as an ethanol technician, producing fuel grade alcohol from various waste sugar and starch products, and managing a seven state recycling project. Right now, I am the manager of a solvent recovery facility. I have worked "professionally" as an automotive mechanic, tree planter, greenhouse manager, carpenter, plumber, electrician, truck driver, and woodworker. I enjoy children of all ages, a well exercised sense of humor, baking, organic gardening, playing, and physical work. I am committed to experimenting with and implementing techniques for healthy, sustainable interpersonal and environmental relationships.

I am 5'3". I have no idea what I weight, but somewhere around 135 lbs. is probably reasonably close. I have sky blue eyes, and very long brown hair with red highlights. I am a vegan (I started as a vegetarian when I was fifteen), although I have no desire to have any "control" over what anyone else respectfully eats. I love dancing (preferably to loud rock and roll or blues music, with lots of backbone vibrating bass and drums).

I am by nature a positive, enthusiastic person. I enjoy life and experiences. I am very poly active, relationship-wise. There are a number of beings who I share myself with as a friend/lovers, predominantly male with a couple female (you might as well know, so if this causes a problem for you we can find out right away). I practice "safer sex" at all time. I identify myself, when expedience motivates, as pansexual. I define pansexuality as a joyously inclusive concept of relationships which encompasses honesty, integrity, and love for yourself, people and the planet. I count the Earth as one of my lovers. My "ideal" relationship situation is a close (living/loving together) pansexual family of three or more adults, who are all open to any number of intentional, responsible relationships with others, near or far. My basic relationship commitments are honesty, responsibility, compassion, and integrity.

I am located in Floyd County, which I refer to as "deepest, darkest, southwestern Virginia". I am about 4 hours from Richmond, just under 5 hours from D.C., 2 and a half hours from Greensboro, and 45 minutes south of Roanoke off I-81.

ABOUT THE KYN HEARTH ECO VILLAGE PROJECT: Kyn Hearth is currently located on 69 acres of forested land in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I am working to create a rural Eco Village based on truly sustainable living systems, and the development and practice of sustainable interpersonal systems - all with a healthy balance of fun and humor. I believe it is vitally important to question, research, develop, and implement environmentally sustainable systems for "energy" production, dwellings, interpersonal relationships, food production and preservation, beneficial waste utilization etc. I am committed to finding new ways for people to live together with respect for our natural environment and each other. I support healthy traditional and alternative relationships, including "non-traditional" sexual partnering and bonding, extended families, and shared responsibility for children. Within the basic commitment to implement sustainable systems, I am open to many possibilities.

Kyn Hearth is presently "under construction". There is one 12' X 16' cabin [made predominantly (95%) from recycled and recovered materials] and a small 7' X 20' travel trailer. The "power" supply is solar right now, with a couple of pretty good opportunities for non-disruptive hydro systems. I am working on several projects ranging from biodiesel production as a sustainable fuel to architectural designs that will combine effective low technology with environmentally sound high technology systems. I am building by hand or with alternative energy "tools". Future projects include constructed wetlands for residential wastewater treatment, methane digestion systems for beneficial waste utilization and fuel production, nano- and micro-hydro power systems, and a myriad of sustainable, non-toxic housing projects.

I am both highly individual and committed to finding healthy ways for people to live together in harmony with each other and our natural environment. I desire to live with people who share these commitments.

I hope that this provides you with some idea of who I am, what I am working on and where I am heading. I look forward to hearing from you. I am interested in learning more about you. I welcome inquiries and I will be happy to discuss any of these issues with you.

Let me know if you want to continue to play.
